Apolysis Now and the Future
In this devlog, we would like to talk about our plans for Apolysis and the future of the game and what sort of things you can expect. We'll show concept art, we'll share some of our ideas and plans for the game, as well as talking about where we intend to take the story from here. We'll also leave this open to comment so you can provide feedback or thoughts about the game going forward. We intend to make these devlogs fairly regularly, but also we'll be posting things on our individual twitter accounts which we'll include at the end of this devlog and also can be found on the project page.
With the release of the Haunted PS1 2021 Demo Disk we were given the opportunity to showcase the project we've been working on the past few months, Apolysis. In the demo we teased a lot of our concepts, plus some of the introductory elements of the game.
Each area is internally named based on the theme it's trying to represent. For example, the Seeker initially starts in front of the refinery, that area is named Escape
In the second half of the game, the player enters what we've named "Survival", in this area we represent the refinery as being threatening, painful, and exposing the Seeker's internal pain, manifested inside the bowels of this abandoned place. The elevator down is also part of this same area.
The final area before our demo ends is named "Seduction" which is where the Seeker comes face to face with the Goddess character, represented with red text on the screen in the prior levels, and from this the more erotic themes of the game are born.
Thus begins more exploration of the sort of themes we wish to cover. The Seeker awakens, evolves, and becomes greater.
Throughout the latter sections of the game, the Seeker dramatically transforms as she interacts and has an intimate relationship with the goddess while traversing the interior of the refinery, which as she progresses becomes more surreal, and represents itself as being part of this organism that is the Goddess.
Her eventual intimate act and fusion with the goddess represents her self actualization and her becoming the goddess.
This concludes our initial devlog. Follow Apolysis to stay up-to date with the development, and also check out the developer's twitter accounts

The environment, the designs, the whole concept were pretty interesting. the game has a lot of potentials.
the only thing that bothered me right away is how the controls act independently instead of corresponding to the camera, it's not quite intuitive. it would be great if you could change that in my opinion
